Population pressures on Easyhomerenovating

Am reading Bernard Salt, Demographer on the latest population numbers. He notes the rate of population growth for Australia, previously, at a very high level has now slowed. The figures are 467,000 in the year to June 2009 and  400,000 for the year to June 2010, slowing likely to as low of 300,000 for the year ending June 2011.  Perhaps this is some explanation for the dramatic slowing in Melbourne auction clearances from a high of 85 % in March, 2010 to a current level of 65% for February 2011. For my understanding it would be much more sensible if migration numbers were more steady rather than these great variations. M

A Picnic, Ferry Ride & Scenes from Down Under

G’day lovely girls.  How are you going?

Well it’s Saturday morning here Down Under and we are hotting up for a blistering weekend…that might sound nice to you who are still wrapped in snow and temps that are considerably less than those here…but if you are about to be holed up on a deck, under the Australian sun, with both your old boyfriend and your new boyfriend for about 12 hours straight with a paintbrush well then I reckon you too would be wishing for cooler temps.

Anyway I thought you might like to see our day out for a picnic yesterday.

Mr BC & I have been planning this day for a week or so and there is *nothing I like better to do than get out and about and explore…preferably with a ferry, sea and old buildings involved.  There wer

Basic kitchen remodelling ideas

Kitchen remodelling is perhaps, the only section of your house, along with bathroom that people tend to remodel first. Nobody knows the reason; it is probably, one of the most trafficked places in the house. Every now and then, someone enters your kitchen, and therefore, it is more likely that a kitchen looks older very fast, and you generally feel, why not give it a new look. A kitchen is also a place where a perfect hygienic formula is needed. A dirty and a dull looking kitchen can be really boring, and not possibly good for your health.

So now if you have decided to improve on your kitchen what would be the best way to do it? Here are some ideas for you.

Secrets From a Stylist

You guys are all remembering to set your DVR’s and pop that popcorn for the premiere of Emily Henderson’s Secrets From a Stylist tomorrow? Right? RIGHT?

Feb 26th, 9pm on the HGTV.

Because Emily is incredible and I sold her some fine furniture that will hopefully pop up on the show here and there and because the afters are stylish and designy and vintagy and unlike anything you’ve seen on the HGTV. My new SFAS drinking game is called “Spot Morgan’s Furniture”. You won’t get very drunk and you’d probably have to watch a bunch of different episodes – so if you love to pound booze and get wasted it may not be a very good game. Now the “Spot Awe

Assiniiboine Community College Woodworking course #12: Last class of Level 2 …and probably for the rest of the year:-(

Well the course is over; I learned a lot and had a lot of fun. I suspect Ryan learned a lot about conducting a classroom and managing the administrative types at the College. I really enjoyed using all the tools and the great setup of their shop. Its given me a lot of ideas to incorporate into my shop, a bench, vise and mortising attachment for my drill press are all pretty high priorities now…just after getting the new tablesaw.

I didn’t manage to finish my project yet but got pretty close. All that is left really is mounting the hardware and finishing up one set of M&T joints (I just realize I missed them this evening just before class!). Bil
