Nature Inspired Crafts
When you’re looking for ideas for crafting, you need look no further than right outside your front door. Nature always provides a plethora of inspiration. Craftster.org recently hosted an “Inspired by Nature” craft challenge, and here are the top five winners of the contest. Maybe they’ll inspire you!
1. Natural Pendant This contestant used a wire wrap and pine straw, moss, hazelnut, birch bark, and lichen gathered from nearby woods, to create this beautiful pendant.
2. Falling Leaves Tray Once this tray was formed, actual leaves were pressed into the clay, leaving their beautiful shape and texture behind.
3. Hand Carved Bird Stamps The maker of these gorgeous stamps used a laser printer and iron to transfer bird images to a stamp carving material. An exacto knife and Speedball Carving Nibs were used to carve the intricate designs.
4. Faux Seashells These seashells are actually pinch pots, which have been raku fired to give them their unique coloring.
5. TP Roll Tree This fun tree wall hanging is made entirely of toilet paper and paper towel rolls, which were cut, pieced, and painted. What a great way to bring a hint of nature indoors to enjoy year round.
